Summer Standouts in Texas

Big state. Big talent. I saw an abundance of well-rounded and quickly developing prospects from the Lone Star State. Here are some names that stood out to me.

Kobe Wilbourn | 5’11 | PG/SG | YB33 NXT 16u | Frisco | 2027 | Electric guard with a great feel for the rock as he can zip past any defender and finish at all levels.

Jayden Blair | 6’0 | PG | EAD 17u | Richardson | 2026 | Excellent 2-way shot creator and playmaker who can manipulate defenses with ease while staying calm under pressure.

Lucas Sutherland | 6’5 | G | EAD 17u | Richardson | 2026 | Tall guard who brings a high basketball IQ to the floor that goes well with his clutch scoring abilities.

Daniel Briscoe | 6’7 | G/F | YGC NXT 17u | Belton | 2026 | Swiss Army Knife type of player as he can dominate the floor grabbing boards, finishing off the glass, swatting opponents, and hitting from beyond the arc.

Jaydon Smith | 6’4 | G | FAM Elite 17u | Klein | 2026 | Scoring driver who excels at being the playmaker on the floor as he brings a vareity of skills to the plate.

Kaiden Clayborn | 6’0 | PG | YGC NXT 17u | Aledo | 2026 | Wiry guard who never stops running the floor causing mayhem with his ability to poke the ball free and finish at all levels.

Langsten Mosley | 6’3 | G | YB33 17u | Allen | 2026 | Vocal leader who brings outmatched hustle and energy that matches well with his dual-sport strength.

Blake Evans | 6’1 | PG/SG | YB33 17u | Frisco | 2026 | Combo guard who serves as the floor general for his squad as he can find the open man, keep the game at his speed, and create shots from any distance.

Jacob Javelona | 5’11 | PG | YB33 17u | Allen | 2026 | Shifty small guard with a smooth release from beyond the arc.

Austin Lowenburg | 6’2 | SG | YB33 17u | Allen | 2026 | Elite sniper who will bring nonstop energy on the defensive side of the ball forcing countless turnovers.

Isaiah Alamia | 6’0 | SG | DC Kings Denton 17u | Poteet | 2026 | Calm and collective shooter who doesn’t let a cold streak affect his ability to shoot the lights out.

Curtis Watson-Davis | 5’11 | CG | YGC NXT 16u | Chapparal | 2027 | Aerobatic wizard who will speed up his opponents game to his speed resulting in easy buckets on the other side of the floor.

Javariane Beck | 6’3 | CG/SF | BYC Elite 17u | Permian | 2026 | Quick guard with a deep bag of moves when finishing in the paint and creating seperation from defenders.

Jeron Lawrence | 5’10 | PG/SG | BYC Elite 17u | Brownfield | 2026 | High-motor guard who never runs out of energy or hustle which fuels his ability to outwork opponents.

Kayden Johnson | 6’4 | PG | Southern Ties Pro16 17u | DeSoto | 2026 | Elite 2-way playmaker who will change the tide of the game with his ability to hit from deep, dish out dimes, swat opponents, grab boards, and slam it home on the rim.

RJ Mitchell | 6’7 | SG | NTX Raptors 17u | Tribulation Prep | 2026 | Tall guard who served as the paint patroller this summer but is a matchup nightmare on the perimeter as he has a pure 3 ball shot and crafty moves to get to the rim.

Emaurie Davis | 5’8 | PG | South U 15u | Plano West | 2028 | Runs the point position well but can also shoot the lights out with a very pure shot from distance.

Creighton Williams | 6’4 | SG | YB33 16u | Frisco Memorial | 2027 | Silent but deadly playmaker who will make opponents pay for giving him space as he can shoot from deep and finish strong off the glass.

Gates Shaw | 5’10 | SG | YB33 16u | Frisco Centennial | 2027 | Does an excellent job of not letting his size prevent him from causing chaos when he’s on the floor as he is not afraid to get into the battle in the paint or shoot over a defenders’ head.

Jordan Brooks | 6’5 | G/F | Texas Wildcats 17u | Duncanville | 2026 | Defensive anchor who denies anything in the air near him which translates down the floor where he relentlessly attacks the rim.

Caleb Richard | 6’4 | CG | LivOn 17u | iSchool of Lewisville | 2026 | Highly dynamic scorer who has a great feel for the game as he has tremendous court vision, crafty handles, smooth jumpshots, and monster dunks.

Osetale Uke | 6’5 | G/F | Texas Wildcats 17u | Mansfield Timberview | 2026 | Bouncy 2-way lockdown defender who jump out the gym while he can throw it down, enforce the No Fly Zone, and also be a playmaker.

BJ Landers | 6’5 | CG | Texas Wildcats 17u | Mansfield Timberview | 2026 | Versatile wing who never stops contributing to his squad whether that be from beyond the arc, in the paint, or locking down the perimeter.

Lojok Lowliwa | 6’4 | CG | DC Kings Denton 17u | Denton | 2026 | Great team player as he is supportive of his teammates but also a competitor on the floor with his strong moves that result in tough buckets.

Andrew Federspiel | 6’6 | SF/PF | NextPlay SA 16u | Reagan | 2027 | Quickly developing forward who brings knockdown shooting and a glove for snatching boards to the table.
