Class A Players to Watch at State
Jett Mueggenborg | 6’3 | G | Okarche | 2026 | Jett is one of the most, if not the best, scorers in the entire state. The 6’3 guard will torch any defense or defender that stands in his way. He can handle the rock, find the weakness of a defense, control the game, and go to work every second he’s on the floor. He reached over 2,500 career points, breaking the school record at Okarche. He’s won two state titles in a row and is looking to cap off his 4 years with another before he heads to Edmond as he recently committed to UCO.
Easton Roby | 6’2 | G/F | Okarche | 2026 | Roby is Mueggenborg’s right hand man. Together, they’re a tough duo to matchup against. Easton is a physical 6’2 guard who can also play the post role, using his strength to his advantage. He’s a great inside scorer and can knock it down from the mid-range. He’s an excellent rebounder and defender as well who impacts the game tremendously.
Cord McGlothin | 6’1 | F | Cheyenne/Reydon | 2026 | Cord plays bigger than his height as he excels at using his size down in the paint to finish through contact and prevent easy buckets from opponents.
Alister Stephens | 6’3 | F | Cheyenne/Reydon | 2027 | Stephens does a great job of combining multiple roles into one as he can play all positions. He’s a great 3-and-D player but brings other traits to the floor as well. He’s able to work the defense and provide for his guys, leading them to victory.
Kamden Adams | 6’6 | SF | Allen | 2027 | Kamden is an elite slasher who excels at both sides of the ball. He does a great job of being where he needs to be at all times. His 6’6 physical frame benefits him in the paint and on the perimeter, causing difficult matchups.
Landin Tenequer | 6’1 | G | Allen | 2028 | Tenequer is a pure shooter from the mid-range and beyond the arc. He gets to his spots and knocks down the open or contested shot. If he can catch fire quickly, the Allen Mustangs will cause some trouble in this bracket.
Tripp Niles | 6’5 | G/F | Southwest Covenant | 2026 | Tripp Niles is a great leader on the floor. He’s the QB for the Patriots in football season and uses those skills on the court to provide for his guys. He’s a physical threat inside the paint as well as from distance as he can finish at all ranges. Niles uses his athleticism to his advantage to grab rebounds and force turnovers.
Gunner Starnes | 6’7 | F | Southwest Covenant | 2026 | Gunner is a 6’7 nightmare to matchup and strategize against. He gives trouble at every spot on the floor, with the rock in his hands or not. From the rip, Starnes will impact the game. Whether it be hitting a deep shot from beyond the arc, swatting away a shot in the paint, or throwing it down at the rim, Starnes is your guy to do it. His ability to be the X-factor of a game is a major reason why the Patriots are here this week. They’re coming off a big win against Okay and are looking to take home the gold ball, which they very well could do thanks to Gunner.
Nash Harman | 6’1 | SG | Cyril | 2026 | Nash is an elite sniper from distance who also can drive past defenders and finish through contact. He’s an athletic and sharp guard who brings outmatched hustle to the court every second of the game. He also does a great job of forcing turnovers and getting downcourt to keep producing for his guys.
Kellan Biffle | 5’11 | PG | Cyril | 2026 | Biffle is just as much of a threat from distance as Harman but can also control the game at his pace. He’s a great floor general who helps ensure the Cyril team is operating how they should be. He has a high basketball IQ and can make the right decision at the blink of an eye without a doubt. He and Nash are a tough duo to stop as they will rack up the points on the board one way or another.
Reed Hellman | 6’5 | F | Waukomis | 2026 | Reed is a beast in the paint and makes life miserable for those who have to guard him. Rebounds, blocks, and bumps off the glass are this guy’s specialty.
Colt Simunek | 6’2 | G | Waukomis | 2027 | Colt is an impressive scorer who will do whatever it takes to get to his spots, provide for his team, and keep the game in his control. He passed the 1,000 career points mark this season as only a Junior and is looking to add way more.
Carter Frymire | 6’0 | PG | Thomas-Fay-Custer | 2027 | Excellent shooter who has been a big difference maker in getting his guys to state this week. He’s able to catch and shoot on the fly with a hand in his face or not.
Gunner Bennett | 6’4 | C | Thomas-Fay-Custer | 2027 | Bennett is like a tank on the floor who will deny any shots taken in his area and absorb contact when threatened. He has a great eye for getting blocks and grabbing boards. If he can stay out of foul trouble, Bennett will help his guys keep rolling on their Cinderella story.
Kale Brister | 6’0 | G | Caddo | 2026 | High energy guard who isn’t afraid to let a team or crowd know how he’s feeling after he hits a deep 3-ball. Excellent shooter from all distances who loves to compete and will go 100% every second he’s out there.
I’ll be at the OG&E Coliseum this week and I look forward to seeing these guys compete to determine who’s the best in the state!
