2029 Standouts at the Bryan Live Period

The PRO16 Finals in Bryan brought the energy, competition, chaos, and many more emotions all weekend long. It was a great experience to witness so many people, fans, players, scouts, and coaches in one spot. Everyone was at the edge of their seat on every court. There were tons of games and I unfortunately could not attend all of them. Here are my standouts from the 2029 class.

Brayden Ball | 6'0 | PG | Team Oklahoma | Westmoore (OK)

Brayden Ball was one of the breakout performers of the weekend, averaging 21 points and 7 rebounds per game. Ball is an aggressive three-level scorer who knows how to create offense both for himself and his teammates. He attacks the paint with purpose, changes pace well off the dribble, and has the shot-making ability to capitalize from the perimeter when defenders give him space. What stood out most was Ball's consistency. He produced at a high level every time he stepped on the floor and played a major role in Team Oklahoma's success throughout the event. Ball established himself as one of the top point guards in attendance and a prospect who continues to elevate his stock every time he competes.

Cooper Beltz | 6'0 | PG | Team Oklahoma | Norman (OK)

Cooper Beltz put together another steady weekend at the point guard position, averaging 12 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while serving as the engine of Team Oklahoma's offense. A super shifty floor general, Beltz plays with exceptional feel and composure, never allowing the pace of the game to speed him up. He stays cool under pressure and consistently makes the right decision with the ball in his hands. His vision and unselfishness stand out, but he's equally capable of scoring when defenses give him an opening, making him a difficult player to contain. On the defensive end, Beltz's activity and instincts were just as impressive. He averaged 1.5 steals per game, using active hands and anticipation to disrupt opposing guards.

Jaleel Shyne | 6'0 | PG | Southern Ties | Edmond Santa Fe (OK)

Jaleel Shyne has made tremendous strides throughout the summer, showing noticeable growth with every event and proving he's more than capable of thriving in a highly competitive environment. The 6'0 transfer point guard has embraced the increased level of competition, playing with confidence and composure while demonstrating that the moment is never too big for him. Shyne's physicality is one of his biggest strengths. He uses his strong frame to attack the paint with purpose, absorb contact, and finish through defenders at the rim. Defensively, Shyne plays with relentless energy and active hands. He consistently picks the pocket of opposing ball handlers, turning defense into offense and creating extra possessions for his team. His combination of toughness, shot-making, playmaking, and defensive intensity made him one of Southern Ties' most reliable guards this weekend.

Jeremiah Millhouse | 6'2 | G | Southern Ties | Piedmont (OK)

Jeremiah Millhouse was one of the most explosive offensive guards at the event, bringing instant energy every time he stepped on the floor. The 6'2 guard has the ability to heat up in a hurry, making him the definition of a microwave scorer. Once he finds his rhythm, he's incredibly difficult to contain, often stringing together 6-8 consecutive points and completely shifting the momentum of a game. Millhouse's shifty handle and smooth pace allow him to create separation with ease. He's crafty in the lane, using change of direction, body control, and creative finishes to score over bigger defenders. His ability to get downhill and produce efficiently around the basket made him a constant threat.

Gibson Johnson | 6'3 | G | Southern Ties | Carl Albert (OK)

Gibson Johnson continues to establish himself as one of the premier young prospects in Oklahoma and, in my opinion, is the top player in the state's 2029 class. After making a significant impact as a freshman and helping Carl Albert reach the Class 5A State Championship Game, Johnson carried that momentum into the summer with another outstanding showing. At 6'3, Johnson impacts every aspect of the game. He handles the ball with confidence, makes advanced reads, and delivers crisp passes that keep the offense flowing. His shooting stroke is smooth and repeatable, allowing him to score efficiently from the perimeter while also creating off the dribble. Johnson's influence extends to the defensive end, where he's a force for the full 94 feet. He applies constant pressure on opposing guards, competes on every possession, and uses his length to cause disruptions.

Deacon Hawley | 6'5 | G/F | Southern Ties | Edmond Santa Fe (OK)

Deacon Hawley continues to stand out as one of the more physically gifted young prospects on the floor. At 6'5, he already possesses excellent size for his age and knows exactly how to use it to create advantages. His combination of strength, length, and athleticism makes him a constant force in the paint, where he's able to finish through contact and overpower defenders around the rim. Hawley has a quick first step that allows him to blow by defenders off the dribble and get downhill in a hurry. Once he gains an edge, he's difficult to stop, using his athleticism and body control to finish over or through help defenders. Hawley also showed the ability to stretch the floor by knocking down perimeter shots when defenses backed off, adding another dimension to his offensive game.

Eli Morgeson | 6'3 | SG | Southern Ties | Edmond Santa Fe (OK)

Eli Morgeson continues to prove why he fits the mold of a high-level 3-and-D prospect. The 6'3 shooting guard consistently spaces the floor and makes defenses pay from the perimeter, especially from the corners where he has become a reliable catch-and-shoot threat. His confidence and quick release make him a player opponents can't afford to leave open. Morgeson also displays a strong feel for the game, reading defenses well and making smart decisions without forcing the action. He understands how to move without the basketball, gets to the right spots on the floor, and capitalizes when opportunities present themselves. His basketball IQ allows him to contribute even when he's not scoring.

Oliver Aylor | 6'8 | PF | WV Gold | Woodberry (VA)

Oliver Aylor showcased the skill set of a true power forward, making his presence felt in the paint on both ends of the floor. Standing at 6'8", Aylor has the size, physicality, and toughness to control the interior and consistently battle against any competition. Defensively, Aylor serves as a reliable anchor, protecting the paint and making it difficult for opponents to finish around the rim. He uses his length and positioning well to alter shots, while his physicality allows him to hold his ground against attacking players. His rebounding ability was one of his biggest strengths, as he consistently chased down boards and created extra possessions for his team. Offensively, Aylor is a steady interior presence with soft hands and a soft touch around the basket. He finishes well off the glass and shows patience when operating in the post.
